Set up a tour

Create a tour with a meeting point, policy, ticket types, add-ons, and a schedule.

This guide uses the generic list screens. You need canManageTours, canManageDepartures, and canManageWaivers if the tour needs a waiver.

Create a meeting point

Add a MeetingPoint with a name, address, and instructions. Guests see it on the tour page and the booking page.

Create a cancellation policy

Add a CancellationPolicy. Set rules as a list, for example [{"hoursBefore":24,"refundBps":10000},{"hoursBefore":0,"refundBps":0}]. This refunds in full more than 24 hours out and nothing after.

Publish a waiver (optional)

Create a WaiverTemplate with the body and the status published. Status cannot be changed after creation, and a published version cannot be edited. Make a new template to change the text.

Add a Tour. Set the kind, duration, time zone, minimum and maximum group, guests per guide, and the resource kind it needs. Link the meeting point, policy, and waiver. Set the status to active when you create it, since update cannot change it.

Add ticket types and add-ons

Add at least one active TicketType with a price in cents. Use seatsUsed of 2 for a tandem kayak. Add any AddOn.

Add a schedule

Add a Schedule with startTimes such as ["09:00","14:00"]. Add BYDAY=MO,WE,FR to the rule to limit the weekdays.

The tour appears on the storefront once it is active and has an on-sale departure. Next, generate departures.
