Cancel a departure

Cancelling needs canManageDepartures. Refunds and credits then run for every live booking.

From the Today page

Open the departure's Cancel departure popover and choose Weather cancel or Operator cancel. Both refund every booking in full.

reason is weather, operator, or min_not_met. Weather sets the departure to weather_cancelled. The others set it to cancelled.

What happens:

• Active holds are released, along with their promo reservations.
• Bookings still awaiting payment are cancelled.
• Offered and accepted guide assignments are cancelled.
• Each confirmed, checked-in, or partly refunded booking is refunded for the amount not yet refunded. With offerCredit: true, a booking from a direct sale is cancelled and given a rebook token instead of a refund. The call returns the token for each booking. Pass it to rebookWithCredit for a departure of the same tour.
• Bookings from a reseller are always refunded, never credited.

Running the call again does not refund twice. The refund keys include the departure and booking.

A departure that has completed or is in progress cannot be cancelled.
