Channels

Reseller channels with commission and seat allocation, and the statements built from their bookings.

/dashboard/platform/channels is a generic Keystone list screen for Channel. It needs canManageChannels.

A channel models a reseller. There is no live connection to a marketplace. You enter the terms.

Fields

  • commissionBps: the commission in basis points (100 equals 1%).
  • paymentModel: channel_collects (the channel takes the guest's money and you invoice the net) or we_collect.
  • allocation: seats per departure held back for this channel.
  • active, contact.

Allocation

Unsold channel allocation counts as reserved for other buyers until 24 hours before departure. Within 24 hours it is released. A channel's own booking uses its own allocation.

Bookings

createChannelBooking with source reseller and a channelId records the commission on the booking. For a channel_collects channel no payment is recorded, because the channel holds the money. For other sources a cash or card payment record is created.

Statements

generateChannelStatement (needs canManageChannels) takes a channel and a date range. It collects the channel's bookings in that range that have no statement yet, and writes a ChannelStatement with gross, commission, and net due. For a channel_collects channel net due is gross minus commission. For we_collect it is the negative of the commission. The statement status starts as open. No operation moves it to invoiced or paid. There is no statement screen. Read it from the generic channelStatements list.
