Generate departures

Create departures from schedules, up to 60 days ahead.

Departures are created from schedules by the generateDepartures operation. It needs canManageDepartures. There is no button for it in the dashboard, so call GraphQL.

mutation Generate($tourId: ID) {
  generateDepartures(input: { tourId: $tourId, days: 60 }, idempotencyKey: "generate-2026-11-03")
}
  • Leave out tourId to cover every tour. Only active tours are used.
  • days is at most 60.
  • Start times are read in the tour's time zone, so they hold across daylight saving changes.
  • A departure that already exists for the same tour and start time is skipped, so the call is safe to repeat.
  • Each new departure starts as on_sale. Its capacity is the smaller of the schedule's capacity override and the tour maximum.

Run it on a timer if you want departures to keep appearing. Nothing runs it for you.

The minimum check

sweepDepartures looks at departures that start within about 25 hours. When the booked seats are below the tour's minimum, it sets the departure to min_not_met and creates an open task named "Run or cancel: minimum not met". It never cancels on its own. It also moves a departure to closed once the booking cutoff (60 minutes by default) has passed.
